Hello TheocBase,

Just so you know there is still a little bit of an issue with your Desktop Version. Our Christian Life and Ministry Overseer entered the student information for the next couple of months and it erased what our Coordinator entered for the Treasures from God's Word and Living as Christians portions of the meeting. Everything shows up on iOS although I cannot speak for Android. However it does not show up on your Mac OS version. Also, although the Sync File is correct, it is not pulling the schedules beyond July, even though they are all made up. If possible please fix these issues. I realize I have said this before but the best option may be to abandon altogether Desktop Versions and make your iOS and Android versions more robust. Thank you so much for your time.

Hmm, the tone of this post is a bit... well. Let's assume your post is a question for help.

Mobile apps only hold info temporarily: if you sign off and sync, all is gone. Sign up again and sync, and it will be there. Desktop versions are the basis, mobile apps are just meant to be a convenience. (so far at least, who knows what the future brings).

I am thinking about the remark that the sync file is correct. I have no reason to believe it is not, but since this is vital, I am interested in what makes you so positive. (once we've established that, we can try to work toward finding a solution).

As it turns out our OCLM Overseer had added another file to the Sync Folder which may have been causing some issues. I am not sure if there is a delay in communication between the Desktop and Mobile Versions of TheocBase. What was interesting is that when you updated TheocBase for Mac and Windows the schedule did show up. However when our OCLM Overseer made changes to the schedule on his PC, it erased what our Coordinator had done, at least it appeared that way on his end. However when I looked at the schedule on my end with iOS everything was there.

I am not sure if this is an issue or not but when our OCLM Overseer tried to change what privileges/responsibilities a Brother has in regards to Prayer, Reading, etc. and he Synced them on Dropbox on his PC they would not show up on iOS. However when I made those changes, they Synced not only on my end on iOS but also on our Coordinator’s iOS devices. So I don’t know if there is a delay in Syncing between Windows, Mac, and iOS or if it was user error. Either way thank you so much for contacting me. Also, thank you for using your skills in making this App. I can only imagine how complicated it is, especially having to make this App work on multiple OS’s and devices.

I don't take credit for developing this programme, since I have absolutely no programming skills. Just a user, like most on this forum.

As for delay in communication: remember there is no such thing as a spontaneous sync! Nothing is synced unless you tell the software to sync.

This means if OCLMO makes changes and syncs, he will not see the COBE changes IF COBE didn't sync! And if COBE syncs later, OCLMO will still not see them unless he himself syncs again.

Best is to sync right before making any changes and right after making some, so the online file is up to date, especially if you have chances others are working in it simultaneously. Time stamps in the database tables will help to determine which records need updating.

This aside, you still seem to be experiencing some issues that I think you shouldn't. You say OCLMO made changes on PC, synced them and they didn't show up on iOS. I take your word for it, but if you want to be 100% sure of what is actually happening (I know this doesn't sound very friendly) you would have to actually go to his place, make the changes with him, and see what procedure he is following... This will help you to rule out, or rule in, some causes that may contribute to the sync issues.

Thank you! And no, you didn't sound unfriendly at all, actually you were quite helpful.

As for sync problems: it has now been confirmed that all TB users must have a Dropbox account.

So EITHER  you make a Dropbox account exclusively for TB (or for the congregation for that matter) and all TB users have access to that Dropbox,

OR

you share the file from your Dropbox, but this only works if the other person is a Dropbox user as well.

NB: Dropbox has a provision to share files with non-users, but that DOES NOT work.
