Dear Brothers,

Thanks for the excellent work you continuosuly put into this software.   The 2019.10.0 version seems to be very stable and few issues.  However, there is one glaring problem that needs to be addressed:

- The new instructions for the LAM meeting starting in 2020 are not correctly implemented.  The length of the digging for gems portion is correct at the new 10 minutes, but the opening comments length is incorrect.  It still shows 3 minutes, instead of the new 1 minute length.  This does not appear to be a template only issue, as the 3 minute allotment appears in the software's UI on the scheduling screen.

You may already be aware of this, and if so, thank you.   If there are any steps we can take in the meantime to use as a workaround on our end, please let us know.

Thanks,

Andres

PS.  Not a bug, but since it is related:  do we have an approximate time table as to when the the new S-89 slips relased in 2019 will be compatible with TheocBase?  I know those were just released, but trying to plan ahead.  Thanks!

As for the new S-89, I got this message from someone on the team earlier today:

I just checked, and the new S-89 is pretty different.  That will take a bit of coding to adapt to it!

So we'll have to wait this out. In my experience, when the new S-89 are not available, you'll have to type the info into the fillable pdf. That is not as much work as it looks.

For accessing the database my personal preference is http://sqlitebrowser.org/

For editing templates I now use https://code.visualstudio.com/

Thanks for the reply.

However, the template workaround posited on the linked article does not fix the issue, as others have mentioned in that thread.  Hopefully a fix can be implemented soon.

The UI issue is not a minor one.  In most of our circuit's congregations, the chairmen are using the mobile app instead of printouts, thus it affects them more than those who rely on printouts only.  For now, our brothers will just save as PDF and edit the PDFs manually.

Interestingly, the combo template seems to show more accurate times stamps than the midweek meeting schedules.  I'll try to find time to tinker with the trmplates and see if I can identify the reason why.

Sadly, the newly revised templates relased in the last update reintroduced the "invalid date" issue again.  Thanks for taking the time to respond, as well as for reaching out to developers in the US.  I know keeping up with the pace of recent changes can't be easy.  knowing the developers are aware, I have full trust a fix will be available in time.

Thanks,

Andres

Someone has found a way to temporarily fix the 1/3 minute thing in the templates here https://www.theocbase.net/support-forum/post/6136-january-workbook-showing-wrong-time-for-opening-comments.html#reply-6172. The UI issue is probably less of a practical problem than the printout..

I guess for TB to handle 2 different opening times depending on date, additional and more complicated code would have to be written rather than simply hardcode one opening time. Otherwise said, I suspect if opening time is changed to 1 in exisiting code, that would effect current schedules and create a mirror of the same problem.

Additionally so far no new S-89's (overdue by a year or so...) have shown up on this side as per 2 minutes ago. I'll send an e-mail to one of the developers in the US, to check his jw org account for this, and mention the other thing as well.
