With the new workbook format starting in January, each workbook has two months - will the workbook import as is or will there be an update?
This was announced a few months ago, but I think until yesterday the workbook was not available. And somehow the GB does not inform the TB team of the technical changes beforehand ;-D.
So there is no way for the team to prepare. The only way they can test this, is by trying to import and figure out what goes wrong.
So for you now: either backup your database and see what happens at an import, or wait for the team to do that and prepare an update if necessary.
[Edit] I should have tested this before responding, but import looks to be OK. 8 weeks are being imported but I will have to check each and every item to see if this went well.
Did you already check if everything imports correctly? I would like to know your experiences before I try it...
Yes, but it is hardly an issue. When all weeks are imported, a mistake would be easy to fix.
I just finished to plan March and April, and we saw an issue on the 22/03 's week with the "Apply yourself to the field ministry" ==> there is 2 parts in the mwb21.03 : first a talk (5 mtes) and then "increase your joy in the ministry" by ask question (10 mtes)
But in TB, we can saw 2 parts : fisrt the "Increase your joy in the ministry" and then a second "Increase your ...." in fact we have the same twice time.
As any body a solution ? Directly in SQL Lite (how) ? or shall we wait a fix dev soon ?
thank in advance for you help

Buonasera, al momento si può fare solo manualmente copiando il testo nella giusta riga. Cosi ho fatto nella lingua italiana. Penso che in futuro faranno qualche aggiornamento al riguardo. Tanti saluti Raffaele
What I found when importing the March/April Workbook-
When importing M/W workbook for March and April 2021, a window would open and ask you to select the type of part to be given and to match that with what the branch had given us in the MW workbook. The changes I needed to make were in the last two rows in the window.
The problem seems to be in an new addition to the "Apply Yourself To The Field Ministry" section. In the March/April WB, there is a part entitled "Increase Your Joy in the Ministry" or as the S-38 instructions says "a discussion of a video other then the a Sample Conversation" which is to be handled by a Elder or MS.
In the pop up window, change the part to a "Study", and it should then import for you with maybe one correction to be made. For me the 5 min talk and the new video part were reversed in the lineup or order they were to be given. I was able to go into the setup/Life and Ministry Meeting- and either in the main or schedule tabs you can use the drop down menu's to select the type of part to be given and copy paste the info needed.
when assigning the part leave the assisant section blank
In messing around figuring out a work around I ended up with duplicate enteries.
If you havent done a backup yet do it now just to be on the safe side.
To remove them go to Setup/life and ministry meeting, main tab and and select the remove duplicates box, then do a backup
Then go to the Dropbox cloud data and select the "Deleat Cloud Data" when it is done resync, now when you sync your other devices it should have cleared any duplicates
Yes Dave, thanks, I suppose that is possible. Only I also think this solution will also not allow you to assign anyone to the new item other than the evening chairman, or does it?
@Brad Campbell, about S-38 I thought everyone had that except our branch here. And it wouldn't show (old or new) when logging in to jw.org. Also I do not remember seeing an update in the app.
Anyway what I (re)discovered: if you go to jw.org (not logging in ), Library, Workbook, and scroll to the far bottom, you see the current S-38. Download the jwpub format to your device and open with the app. It gave me an error, but I did end up with the 11/20 version that I needed.
to respond to earlier comments: a new release was due, and the goal was to accomodate not just the s-89 change but also the March/April new item. On testing some unexpected and unwanted issues came up. I know they are working on it day and night (more nights actually...) but for now we'll have to make do with what we've got.
So maybe as a user you want to postpone import of Mar/Apr, or else the new items could be defined as something else, as suggested by Dave and Brad above.
