Hi

Unfortunately, it appears that the Dropbox synchronise functions from iOS devices has a broken link:

From iOS (iPad or iPhone) I click the cloud. After successfully logging in to Dropbox, (including 2-step verification), I am then asked to 'ALLOW' Theocbase to edit / view Dropbox files and folders etc. However, once I click 'ALLOW' it takes me to a blank white screen and nothing happens. When I go back to Theocbase, it has not syncronised and simply asks me to repeat the process of logging in > Allowing Dropbox to access Theocbase files etc.

If I try and view the blank white page on a web browser it displays a Dropbox error page: Error (4xx) We cant find the page you're looking for.

Thank you for your hard work and help.

Here's what Dropbox shows in the connected apps section when the permissions request is sent by the Windows10 version of TheocBase:

So it seems that the iOS app is not properly formatting it's request to Dropbox.

We will probably have to wait for the next version of the iOS app to be released.

I heard back from a developer that there has been a change on the Dropbox side. The next update is planned to have a fix.

I also confirm the same problem on Android, tablets and smartphones. No problem on the computer.

I think some of you ascribe too many skills to me... When it comes to the technical side, or issues within the code, I understand nothing about it. I'll alert one of the developers though.

Thanks Marc for your answer!

i tried all your option and nothing works... I have iPad ios15 and iPhone... other elders with Android have the same problem.

blueorblind explain precisely the problem... I tried with different browsers (safari, chrome, Firefox...) and its all the same... white page... error (see picture attached).

i don't think th eproblem is coming from the browsers... actually TB opens a browser in-app... it may be the problem. When we ALLOW, then the pro ses doesn't goes back into TB...

can you please check if there is something else to do? It's a huge problem for our congregation and I'm sure in many others...

i thank you in advance

brotherly love

Hello blueorblind,

I hope I got that right, I am having the same issue as you. I tried to log out so I could get updated information in TheocBase but I cannot log back in via Dropbox. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS 15.2 and am using TheocBase Version 2021.08.0. I did have iCloud Private Relay (Beta) turned on but I turned it off and tried to log back in and still was not able to. I also deleted TheocBase and reinstalled it but it still didn't work. Dropbox could very well be having an issue on their end, they may be having issues signing TheocBase as an allowed App to access your Dropbox account. Sorry that isn't more helpful but I'm sure things will be fixed soon.

Thanks for your suggestions Marc. Unfortunately, the issue remains and also means I cannot login or import epub files. I am using Theocbase version 2021.08.0.

1. My iPad and iPhone (both ios 15.0.2) default to Safari browsers - not in Private (incognito mode).

2. It seems to be working ok on my mac.

3. Uninstall / reinstall the app from my iOS devices didn't make a difference.

I don't have a solution, but to share my thoughts here (and assuming this is the latest version)

I had this quite a few versions (possibly a  few years) ago. I think I used my browser in incognito mode, which caused the issue (though it should be possible to use that). I am not that techsavvy, but the problem was somewhere along the lines of: you log in to Dropbox, click 'Allow' then your browser loses the info that you clicked 'allow'. So the browser you use, or the way it is set, may have something to do with it.

OR

I wonder if anyone with access to the same Dropbox database who is not on iOS (Windows, Android, Mac), is having the same issues. iOS updates have caused some unforseen issues in the past.

OR:

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on your mobile device? This is a last resort, and I honestly think there is only a small chance this helps. I think you could try it though.
