I have updated the songs list to the new songbook numbers and titles. However when I print the Combined Schedule and check the box for "Show Song Titles" it is printng the "old" song title. I'm not sure it could be pulling the old song titles from or how to resolve this issue. Has anyone else run across this particular problem?

Images included show the setting and results.

You can search the net for any good free sqlite DB manager of your liking. Or see sqlitebrowser(dot)org. It has sqliteDBmanagers for various platforms.

Locate theocbase.sqlite and make a copy in a safe place, such as your desktop. Do not skip this. See http://www.theocbase.net/support-forum/10-where-is-the-database.html. Open the original database, not the copy, in your SQLite DB Manager.

You need the 2nd tab: Browse Data. Just under the words "Browse Data" you'll find a dropdown list that has the various tables in their alphabetic order. Select Songs, and there they are. Hit ">" button toward the left hand bottom to move to the next pages. As for the situation you described, I bet there are probably around 300 songs in the database, both old and new. If not: then I do not know what causes your problem.

You can select any line, and then hit delete (toward the top right of the view window). Making changes to a database is always tricky, sometimes there is no undo possibility. That is why you need the backup. Or hopefully you don't...

As a matter of fact, personally, if something is wrong with the songs table, I would select each and every record one by one and delete it until no songs are there any more. Notdelete/drop the table itself! You'll need it.Then close the database, start Theocbase and do a new import of the songs.

(If you think it is a lot of hassle, send your theocbase.sqlite to "m (dot) theunissen (dot) 84 (at) gmail (dot) com" (no spaces, no quotation marks...) preferably through wetransfer(dot)com and I will check the amount of songs in the database for you)

Urk. Now I have a problem.
Finally got around to trying this. I believe I've followed your instructions to the letter, save one step. I deleted the first 154 songs with a Shift-Select - not one-by-one. Seemed to be the quicker way to achieve the same thing... (hope so).

Saved. Closed. Then opened up TheocBase. Everything worked fine until I went to the print menu. None of the templates displayed anything in the preview except coloured boxes. When I tried to change templates TheocBase hung completely.

So I forced-quit and used my backup of theocbase.sqlite (like you'd instructed) and replaced my corrupted one. I then checked the songs - all 305 are back. But upon reopening TheocBase and going to the Print menu I find the same circumstance. Coloured boxes but no displayed data in the preview. And it still hangs, forcing me to force a quit.

Not sure what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

I've managed to restore my current working TheocBase data via exporting from another device. Doing so has told me that my printing problem was there before I started this. I haven't printed assignments or schedules for a month and now it's time to do so again.

Does this mean my templates have somehow become corrupted?

Same problem here. It seems to affect all templates that use the song titles.

Song list was updated which way?
Remove/delete the old songs first then add the new ones?
Or did you overwrite the existing song titles with the new ones instead?

In the former case it could be that they were deleted from the user interface, but not from the database table and you would have to clear that. In the latter, I wouldn't know... actually.

I first deleted/removed the old songs and then imported the new song numbers and titles. In fact I attempted it again after I first noticed it, deleted all the songs I had imported, so there were no songs in the database and restarted the program, then after reopening it I re-imported the new songs...same result of the songs titles still incorrect.

The songs may be in the database, even if you do not see them. That shouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I have seen it with persons, talks and congregations too.

Try to open the theocbase.sqlite with an sqlite reader. I'd you do not know how, just wait. I have to get to the meeting now, but try to be back tomorrow.

Thank you. I have no idea what reader I would need to do that.

So, do I understand that we move from song problem to print problem now, right? For me that is OK, the rules here are not that strict, but just to be sure.

You suggest the printing problem was there before. I do not know why you believe so. I can hardly believe the templates are corrupted, for if they were you might not see anything at all. What you see is a very neat form though, except it's empty.

You might try reinstalling TheocBase. It will not effect the database, but will put your present installation in a RollbackDirectory and create a new installation, and see what happens. Just a shot in the dark really... I'll think about it further today, but have to rush to work.

your earlier response corrected the problem for me. What had happened was that despite my deleting the songs in the program the database still had them. As a result I had approx. 400 songs in the Songs Table. I followed the instructions to edit the Songs Table, deleted all the unwanted songs and my problem was resolved.

Apologies for the confusion. The reason I was refering to the Print menu, is that (as far as I know) that is the only place where viewing the Song Titles becomes relevant. So after I'd followed your instructions, I went to see if the Song Titles had been corrected, and found that I could not see anything. So I assumed these two things were linked, until it was still there after reverting back to the previous sqlite file.

I have since reinstalled the software, though that didn't help. But I have just Signed Out of TheocBase and then Signed in again and it seems to have resolved the print issue.

So I then followed your routine again for the songs, and this time it has all worked.

So I don't know what the issue was. I'm reporting it here just in case it happens to someone else.

Thanks for your help, and sorry for the run around.

Laurence

Erm, I am not sure I understand either, since your print was all blank. But that was a good thing to think of signing off and on to cloud. Happy it worked.
