Remove the video driver (Intel (R) HD Graphics Family video adapter) from your device manager.

Open TheocBase and it will work normally.

Back in Device Manager and in action, you click Check for hardware changes.

After the installation, the problem will have been resolved.

Hi Brothers,

I also cannot start version 2018.12. I uninstalled the Intel Graphics drivers and then Theocbase starts. But as soon as the drivers were reinstalled after Check for Hardware Changes Theocbase fails to start.

Any ideas?

Boydie,

I had the same issue on one of our elder's Windows PC Laptops. We had to update the display driver directly from the manufacturer's website. I do not recommend updating the driver using windows update, nor from the link posted above for Intels DHC drivers. Both of those are dead ends. If you manually search for and install the latest video driver from the manufacturer, you should be good to go.

One additional tip: As Versammlung indicated below, several restarts are neccessary. After installing the deleting the bad driver and installing the correct drivers, an additional reboot of the machine is necessary. In our case, we had to reboot twice before it worked as it should.

same here on a microsoft surface pro 1796 and windows 10 pro x64. intel hd graphics 620 with latest drivers 25.20.100.6471 dated 12/20/2018. not able to come beyond the first splash screen. is there a log file somewhere in order to see what's going wrong?

well, i got it up and running on the surface pro with intel hd graphics 620.

just some background info before: intel recently switched it's graphic drivers model to what they call DCH drivers (more info: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000031275/graphics-drivers.html) all drivers are now called legacy drivers. so the advice in the installation notes to update intel drivers to the most current version is kind of missleading.

anyway, i deinstalled the most current intel dch driver mentioned in my earlier post, deinstalled the new intel grahpics controller center (the one in ms appstore for dch drivers). then restarted the pc and installed the now called legacy version 25.20.100.6373. one more reboot and theocbase shows up.

by the way, i had no smooth update-path vom 2018.11.0 to 2018.12.0. at the end of the installation the installer claimed an error dropped by the ms visual c++ 2015 redistributable x64 package. so my first try left me with two theocbase installations. 2018.11.0 in the x86 program path, still working and 2018.12.0 in the x64 program path not working. the only fix: manual deinstallation/deleting of all files/folders related to theocbase and do a new installation from scratch. this time only x64 program path gots populated by theocbase folder/files, ms visual c++ got installed without dropping an error, installer could generate the correct uninstaller.exe which did not work before, and theocbase appeared in the list of installed apps/programs.

Thanks for all the input.  I went through the process again of uninstalling the intel drivers, rebooting, reinstalling & rebooting and finally all is working.

Seems it just needed a bigger hammer!

Hi I cant seem to sort this out! I have updated my Theocbase to the newer version and its gone "pair-shaped" - this should be simple and easy to install not causing more problems. All I need to know is why I now cant open the program after its now installed on my PC. The pre-lude to the program opens then nothing. I am feeling sick in the gut thinking i have lost all my data. Please help. Tony

On my computer (device manager/graphic cards) I had 2 options: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 and Radeon 520 Series.

After I deactivated the Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620, then theocbase worked:

graphic card deactivate Intel

Will this issue be adressed ? I have an optiplex 7040 with gen. 6 Intel processor and the latest driver, but TheocBase refuses to work if the driver is enabled.
