Hello, Thank you for you work with this program we love using it and it makes our job much easier.

Once question/issue I noticed is I am no longer able to add the talk outlines of any outgoing or local speakers in the settings.  If I select the pencil there is no list that populates to check which outlines/talks the brother has.  If I select the add button and add the numbers followed by commas and then select ok/add it puts nothing in the list.

Can you please take a look and see if this is a bug?   I am on a MAC book Pro running MAC OS High Sierra.

Benjamin,

Thanks for the reply and the screenshots!  They help tremendously. (FYI - Please feel free to edit that post and delete the screenshots that contain your personally identifiable information.)

From the screenshots, I agree with you, it definitely seems to be a bug.  Is this only occurring when you try to add outlines to a speaker, or does it also affect your trying to make assign a public talk on the weekend schedule?  On your screenshot, I can clearly see the pencil option is disabled, yet it seems as if it still lets you add talks to a speaker by using the "+" symbol.  Could you let us know what happens if you try to add a talk this way?

Regardless, I know you just want to get this working again.  Another user reported a similar issue and in the end, it was tied to the new access control settings.  Take a look at Dino's resolution here in this thread:

https://www.theocbase.net/discussions/post/5355-unable-to-assign-parts.html

Could you give that a try?  Please let us all know if those steps outlined in that article help out.

Kindly,

Andres

No it does not add the talks when I manually try to add them using the PLUS button. I can enter the talk numbers followed by commas but once I hit OK/Save it adds noting in the list.

Benjamin,

Please double check your access control settings.  Make sure you have the correct permissions enabled, as this new feature in the latest update is what is throwing most users off and the most likely cause of this behaviour.

If the issue persists after you've verifyed you have the correct settings enabled, please respond back and let us know specifically what version of TheocBase you are running.  One of us wiouod be happy to look into it further.

Your brother,

Andres

Yes I still seem to be having the issue even with the proper access control which I believe is setup correctly.  You can verify this by the attached image below.

Thank you,  Ben

You are not adding talks to the talk outline list, but trying to assign an already imported talk outline to an existing speaker, right? (I missed the screenshots)

You are not going to believe this, but did you by any chance change the UI language of TB, or move into a foreign language field?  Whatever the situation: make sure that the language of the TB interface is the same as the language of the talks you are trying to assign. (see language code in the talk outline list)

And please don't ask me why...

Hi Marc!

The cavalry is here!  Thanks so much for jumping in and helping out.  I have attached a screenshot replicating his issue in case it helps you.   He was not adding talks to the main list of outlines in the database, but rather assigning outlines on the speaker details screen.  Thanks my brother!

Ben, I'll leave you in Marc's capable hands.  He has helped us all out countless times and taught me the little I do know.

That is too much honour, and I certainly don't want to disturb an interesting conversation.

But thought i'd put in my two pennies, since it is a silly thing ( I think it is ) that can so easily be overlooked.

I'll have a look tomorrow as it is way past children's bedtime over here...

UPDATE:

It is now working and I am able to add the talk outlines for each speaker.  The only change I made since we talked was I followed the link you suggested

https://www.theocbase.net/discussions/post/5355-unable-to-assign-parts.html

This is where we access and add share feature in dropbox.  Once I added the other members to the Dropbox - Apps - Share the talk outlines appeared.

I am not saying that is what made it work but that is the only thing that I changed before it started working.
