Hi,

Finally got round to digitising our territory maps. I've used Google Maps to create the .kml file and successfully imported this into TheocBase.

I've created a Google Maps API key, when I try to put this into the correct box in Settings and then choose Google as the default service it seems to take it, for example if I click Cities tab and then come back it's fine, but if I go to a different section of Settings, or leave settings and then come back it has cleared Google API box and default is back to Here Maps.

If I then go to printing and try to create a Map and Addresses Sheets, in the preview are it has a greyed out Google Map saying "This page can't load Google Maps correctly" and this is the same on the actual PDF file...

I'm guessing I'm doing something really basic wrong, but just hoped someone might be able to help.

Regards

Gideon

Hi Gideon, there are 3 templates for Google and two of them were obviously not adjusted as to the Google API key, meaning you could check the one that seems to be good (which you find under the Territory Record option), if your settings are OK at all.

You probably would need to wait until the remaining ones are corrected, or you can do it yourself. Copy and rename them in another folder (set this folder also in the Settings under Custom templates folder) and then find and adjust the following line (with a plain text editor such as notepad):

    <script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js"></script>

into:
    <script src="https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?key=!GOOGLE_API_KEY!"></script>

You can also check the Territory Map Card option, which may also work already, but you need to put the S-12 pdf file (from jw.org) into your custom template folder too.

Thanks Marlon B, that's worked.

It's a start at least, API key saves. But when I try saving map to PDF I still get development watermarks...

It seems that the changed values are lost, if you first switch to a different section of the settings. If on the other hand you switch to another page (e.g. Printing) after editing the settings in the Geo Services, the changes will be saved.
