Hi all,

Our congregation is currently using KHS program to scheduleour weekend meeting, we would like to switch to theocbase.I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to import congregations and speakers fromKHS software to theocbase? Or am I reserved to entering each congregation and speaker by hand?

Thanks,

AG

Sorry, that feature doesn't exist yet. I've added it to our wish list, but it will be a while before we can get to it.

Wish I was able to offer a more positive answer!

In the export screen it appears that you can import/export publishers via XML but as soon as I export the file it becomes a THB file. If you could allow a simple import/export of an XML file of publishers these transitions can be done easily

Our congregation is using KHS for the public talk scheduling, too. Any suggestions to export the data from KHS and import to TB? Or, is there a tool/function in the program that will assist with this process? Thx - Joe

It may be the KHS is a "closed" system where access to the data outside of the app is not possible.

Ideally the two systems would allow for an exchange of speaker lists also. While TB has an open DB, it is not documented how to access the KHS DB...

@Stephan: if you replace the thb extension with xml, then open the file with Excel, you get a readable table. Import can be done from various file formats.

In general: the real problem here is that nobody seems to know how KHS stores its info. On KHS' site, it says that info from Excel cannot be imported into KHS. This might indicate that an export from KHS to Excel is not possible either. If it were, it would be relatively easy to either import through the import function OR copy paste the table directly into the database.

For accessing the database my personal preference is http://sqlitebrowser.org/

For editing templates I like to use http://brackets.io/
